Classic Egyptian Molokhia with Chicken Broth

Ingredients :


  • 1 pack Pianta Molokhia (Frozen)
  • 4 cups chicken broth (hot)
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee
  • Salt to taste

Steps :


  • In a saucepan, bring chicken broth to a gentle boil.
  • Add frozen molokhia directly into the broth (no thawing needed).
  • Simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • ln a separate pan, sauté garlic and coriander in butter until golden (this is the “tasha”).
  • Stir the garlic mixture into the molokhia and serve hot over rice with chicken.
